My interest in weather goes back to when I was a child.  I would find myself going out on the porch during a thunderstorm and look at the sky and listen to the pounding rain and peels of thunder and flashes of lightning.  In high school I had Earth Science in the 9th grade and decided to major in Earth Science when I attended Eastern Michigan University during the late 1970's.

Currently, I am a special education teacher in the Detroit Public School system, and teach Earth Science in the Special needs department.

My hope is that you will find this webpage interesting as well as informative.

The weather station I am using is the Vantage PRO2 from Davis Instruments.

Special Features included on station:

A rain collector heater which melts the snow to provide an accurate reading of the water content during a storm event.  Also, included is a solar radiation and UV sensor.
